When I had a trip to Sokcho, I looked for a coffee shop for a delicous dissert with a great ocean view on the internet just like you reading this post. And, I found this coffee shop “Bada Damda”, meaning “gather the sea” or “hold the sea” in Korean.
As implied by the cafe’s name, visitors will capture the stunning ocean views within their hearts.
Ocean View
The entrance of the coffee shop was opposite side of the sea and blocked by other buildings so I could not imagine to see such a scenery before entering the cafe. However, as soon as I reached the 3rd floor and stepped into the coffee shop, I was taken aback by the stunning scenery. The view was absolutely breathtaking!
There are rocks with seagulls resting on them and a pavilion that is perfect for taking pictures near them.
Coffee and cakes
Bada damda latte
A cafe latte menu that mixes three ingredients with different densities.
The bottom layer is a blue drink that seems to represent the sea.
Blue: soda flavor / White: condensed milk / Brown: coffee
When mixed, it tastes like a cafe latte with sweet syrup but it looks like a green tea latte.
Corn cream latte (Oksusu cream latete)
A latte with whipped cream and corn chips on top.
You can taste both the sweetness of the whipped cream and the nuttiness of the corn.
Lemon cake and ice cream croffle were also delicious.
In conclusion, I highly recommend this place to those who want to enjoy the sea view while eating sweet desserts.
