If you are traveling Gangwondo, you can find many good cafes in Gangneung. However, in this post, I would like to introduce one cafe named “coffee go” I think the best in Goseong, Gangwondo by sharing my experience of visit. If you are looking for a good cafe in Goseong, I strongly recommend you visit there.

When you first enter the cafe, you will see the cafe advertising they have received “excellent” ratings in the cafe/dessert category from the Korean Consumer Appraisal.

Enjoyable view

It is located right in front of the East Sea, making it a great spot for taking photos. You can even enjoy your coffee outdoors while looking out at the sea.

Fresh coffee beans

In my visit, I ordered the signature menu items, pour over coffee made with coffee beans “Ethiopia Sidamo Ayla Bombe G1” and “Guatemala Antigua La Gloria SHB”, roasted by the cafe itself. Luckily, it wasn’t too busy, so we had a chance to watch the barista doing a pour-over. As the coffee was poured, we noticed a significant bloom, since the beans were freshly roasted and contained a significant amount of gas.

I enjoyed so much of the coffee. Here’s my impression on the two signature coffees.

Ethiopia Sidamo Ayla Bombe G1

The coffee shop processed the Grade 1 (high quality) beans using the anaerobic natural fermentation method, but I couldn’t determine the exact roasting level although I assume it was light to medium. Surprisingly, the coffee had a very special flavor. It had a strong fruity aroma and a pleasant floral scent. The various flavors were complex, making it a great choice for coffee lovers. However, I would not recommend coffee made with this coffee bean to those who don’t enjoy acidic coffee.

Guatemala Antigua La Gloria SHB

SHB grade beans were wet processed (washed).I’m not usually a fan of Antigua beans due to their unique flavor and low acidity, but this one was surprisingly tasty. It had a nutty flavor and was well-balanced as described in the provided cupping notes. This coffee may appeal to most people’s taste.

I had a delicious raspberry butter scone, and it paired perfectly with my coffee.
